Ho Chi Minh's House on Stilts
Ho Chi Minh's house behind the Presidential Palace in Hanoi. Uncle Ho, as the Vietnamese fondly call him, did not feel comfortable in the ostentatiously huge Presidential Palace, so he asked for a small, simple house to be built for him. The house is raised 3/4 of a floor on stilts, and has only two rooms upstairs, one study and one bedroom. Ho Chi Minh would hold meetings in the shaded area underneath the house. To learn more about Uncle Ho, please click the image.
